A keynote lecture by Maarten Hajer about resisting cultures of fear through urbanism.

On June 14, 2016, two days after the mass shooting at a gay night club in Orlando, Maarten Hajer, the Chief Curator of the International Architecture Biennale 2016, gave a heartfelt keynote on the day the IABR–Atelier Rotterdam: The Productive City presented the results of its design by research. Maarten stressed our responsibility to fight a culture of fear, on our way to the Next Economy: “it’s not about bricks, it’s about the social cement.”
